What is thermal energy? Thermal energy is the sum of kinetic and potential energy of the particles in an object; is transferred by conduction, convection, and radiation.

What kinds of other things have to do with thermal energy? There is conduction, convection, the first law of thermodynamics, heat, heat engine, insulator, internal combustion engine, radiation second law of thermodynamics, solar collector, specific heat, temperature, thermal energy, and thermodynamics.

What are all those things? Temperature: is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in an object. Heat: is thermal energy that flows from something at a higher temperature. Specific heat: the amount heat that is needed to raise the temperature of 1kd to 1degrees C. Conduction: is the transfer of thermal energy by collisions between particles in matter. Convection: is the transfer of thermal energy in a fluid by the movement of warmer and cooler fluid from place to place. Radiation: is the transfer of energy by electromagnetic waves. Insulator: a material in which heat flows slowly. Solar collectors: active solar heating systems that absorb radiant energy from the sun. Thermodynamics: thermal energy, heat, and work are related, and the study of the relationship.

The first law of thermodynamics: increase in thermal energy of a system equals the work done on the system plus the heat transferred to the system. The second law of thermodynamics: is that it is impossible for heat to flow from a cool object to a warmer object unless work is done Heat engine: a device that converts heat into work. Internal combustion engine: fuel Is burned inside the engine in chambers or cylinders.

Hope you learned something!!! The End!
