2 What is AARP Tax-Aide? It is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service available to taxpayers with low- and middle-income, with special attention to those age 60 and older. Over 34,600 AARP Tax-Aide volunteers, are trained in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), to help over 2 million taxpayers file their federal, state, and local tax returns each year at nearly 7,000 AARP Tax-Aide sites nationwide.

5 RESPONSIBILITIES OF A AARP TAX AIDE VOLUNTEER Sign a Volunteer Agreement (Form 13615) Adhere to Standards to protect Taxpayer Data and Privacy Provide Quality Service

6 Treat Taxpayers professionally with courtesy and respect Safeguard confidentiality of taxpayer info Apply tax laws to the best of your ability Only prepare returns within scope of training Protect equipment and supplies Do not solicit business or accept compensation

7 At the site Computers, supplies, software and forms will be provide to prepare a return Publications (Pub 4012, Pub 17, NYS) will be provided Expense Report provided by Local Coordinator, maintained by volunteer Security requirements will be established at the site
