7. Hong Kong Budding Poets (English) Award 2008-09 Prize-giving ceremony –30 May 2009 Saturday (tentative) –Award winners will be invited and present their award-winning poems

Hong Kong Budding Poets (English) Award 2008-09 Primary Section Secondary Section Open Section Length (minimum) 12 lines16 lines20 lines Poetic form Poetic form is open but should exhibit rhyme, rhythm, imagery and structure. Poetic form is open but should exhibit rhyme, rhythm, imagery and structure, in addition, the use of poetic devices such as alliteration, simile and metaphor.

11. Hong Kong Budding Poets (English) Award 2008-09 Poems must not have been previously published, self-published or published on a website or broadcast before 1 June 2009. Poems must be the original work of the author. Any infringement of competition rules and regulations will disqualify the student from taking part in the competition or winning an award.

Hong Kong Budding Poets (English) Award 2008-09 Student Entry Form –Each poem must be given a title –Neither School name nor student’s name should be included –Poems typed and printed in 14-pt Times New Roman –School assign a number to each entry form, from 1, 2, 3… –Save all softcopy on to a disc
