8. How it works  6 different laser detectors read the precise time when the paper passes underneath.  Advantages of using 6 lasers.  Using the simple formula:  Velocity = Distance/Time  This design calculates the speed up to 15 times!  This makes our design extremely accurate and reliable.

9. Advantages of Our Design  Simple  Generic formula  Reliable  Can still compute velocity even if one laser fails  Very Accurate  Computes the average speed at different locations  Easy instillation  Reasonably compact  Few Components.
