2 Bell-Ringer  What do you know about the events of 9/11/01?  After you finish writing your response, get out your remediation packets so we can go over the answers.

3 Remediation Packets  Go over answers to the Remediation Packets. Use these to study for your retest, which will be on Sept. 16 (next Tuesday).

4 Define Hero  Give me a list of qualities that describe a hero.  Give me a list of people (real or fictional) who have these qualities and who you consider to be heroes. Be able to justify your choices.

5 “A Brief History of Heroes”  Read the article “A Brief History of Heroes” in the red textbook, pages 69-72. (We will use the CD.)  Complete the Guided Reading handout for this article.  Discuss rhetorical strategies the author used in the article (add to Guided Reading handout).

6 CROWN Exit Slip  Communicate what you learned today in THREE sentences.  React to what you learned today in THREE sentences.  Offer a ONE sentence summary of today’s entire lesson.  Ways you can use what you learned today.  Note how well you did today.
