June 27th, 2005AB/CO/HT - Review of Activities for PS-SPS 2006 Startup SPS RF FARADAY CAGE PURPOSE: To upgrade the existing TG3- based system with a new CTRV-based system, therefore allowing: –8 events/ms on the GMT cable. –FESA multi-cycling. –Usage of standard configuration and diagnostics software provided by AB-CO. –Documenting this important part of the timing system in the same central DB as the rest.

June 27th, 2005AB/CO/HT - Review of Activities for PS-SPS 2006 Startup SPS RF FARADAY CAGE SCOPE (2/2): work breakdown –Preparing 7 cable bundles (40 lemo 00 each). –Understanding the current installation in terms of SW and proposing a new configuration. –Procurement of 8 VME systems (crate + CPU), 70 CTRV cards, 35 fan-out cards plus miscellaneous material (fans, passe-cables,…). –Requesting extra Ethernet connections in the BA3 Faraday Cage. –Cabling in BA3 (6 VME crates) and BA2 (1 VME crate). –Software configuration and installation.
