Gothic Churches  Sculptors carved lifelike sculptures and scenes from the Bible on the indoor and outdoor walls  Fairytale animals and creatures included.  Stained glass windows were very popular.  Windows helped illiterate people understand the bible.  The stained glass brought color into the church.

3. Paintings and Tapestries  Artists would decorate books with little pictures called illumination, and they were made with a lot of color and detail.  People who could not read could look at the picture and understand what the page was about.  Artists would also create paintings in fabric and thread called tapestries and were used for decoration and to keep out cold drafts inside the stone churches.
