Early Life I was born in London, England on May 8,1716 My mother’s name is Isabella Wright and my father’s name is Robert Wright I went to South Carolina in 1730 when my dad was appointed to chief justice of the colony I was an attorney in South Carolina and purchased plantations and slaves I married Sarah Maidman in February 1742 and had 8 children Became Attorney General in south Carolina in 1747

What I did For Georgia Appointed Royal Governor of Georgia in April 1761 I was the third, last and most popular Royal Governor Very successful governor encouraging the colony ’ s growth by attracting new settlers Encouraged settlement of Georgia ’ s frontier Successfully negotiated 2 large land cessions with the NativeAmericans Oversaw the expansion of Georgia ’ s territory Became one of the largest landowners in the state with elevenplantations and 523 slaves
