NATURAL GAS AND OILFIELD INDUSTRY'S

NATURE OF WORK With the natural gas and oilfield industry you have a vast variety of jobs you can be doing. Most all are working on the rig itself carrying pipe to the elevators or hammering in steel for the flow back. There are other jobs such as monitoring the amount of water pumped into the hole and the amount of gas or oil coming out. Flow back is an important part of the job due to the danger involved if it is not done the correct way.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING The education needed to work for a natural gas company can be from a high school diploma or a four year college degree. Training can include hasmat, fire safety and other special safety training. Also cdl license training is recommended to due to the machinery that needs to be operated on the job site.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS You must have a very clean driving record to work for natural gas. You can not have any excessive speeding tickets or DUI. You must be able to pass random drug and hair follicle testing. They recommend you get atleast some training in civil engineering or petroleum engineering before applying for supervisor jobs.

JOB OUTLOOK The job outlook for the Natural Gas industry is very well. The field has many positions for all types of jobs. The natural gas industry will continue to grow. The amount of jobs that it is creating is benefiting many people around the world.

POTENTIAL EARNINGS The average worker for the Natural gas industry makes anywhere from $80 to $100+ a year. Which is anywhere from 18 – 25+ dollars an hour. The wage is continuously going up and bringing in more and more money every day.
