INTRODUCTION What is wireless sensor network? Sensor node Gateway Base Station
4
Introduction :- WSN are used to collect data from the environment. They consists of large number of SENSOR NODES and one or more BASE STATIONS. The nodes in network are connected via Wireless communication channel. Each node has capability to sense the data, process the data and send it to rest of the nodes or to Base Stations.
5
STAR RING TREE CLASSIFICATION
6
Star Topology Single hop to Gateway Gate way serves to communicate between nodes Node can not send data to each other directly Lowest Power consumption Easily scalable Not easily reliable as one point of failure No alternate communication paths
7
Ring Topology All node performs same function No leader node Single direction – data lost Tree Topology Msg. transmit in branch of trees It checks leader node and their information
8
FULLY CONNECTED MESH CLASSIFICATION
9
Fully Connected Additional nodes – links increases Routing problem occurs Mesh Topology Multi Hopping system Nodes can communicate each other directly Highly Power consumption Increase latency
10
Hybrid Topology Sensors are arrange in star around the routers Routers around themselves in mesh form Reliable, low power consumption, many alternate communication paths
