Parliament Parliament is the highest legislative authority in the United Kingdom – the institution responsible for making and repealing UK law. It is also known as the Legislature. It consists of three constituent parts: House of Commons House of Lords Crown

The House of Commons The real center of British political life; the place where elected representatives make and debate policy; Currently consists of 650 Members of Parliament (MPs) elected by the people to represent them; MPs represent voters in a particular area, known as a constituency or seat.
