Asthma By the end of this session you will be able to: recognise an asthma attack respond appropriately when someone is having an asthma attack.

© St John Ambulance. All rights reserved. Asthma attack What you will see: difficulty in breathing wheezing difficulty speaking distress and anxiety.

Asthma attack What you should do: allow the casualty to sit in a comfortable position reassure the casualty tell the casualty to breathe deeply and slowly help the casualty use their reliever inhaler (1 or 2 puffs every few minutes until they either improve or have 10 puffs) Dial 999 if they don’t improve.
