electric or push mower (or better muffler on engine), wear hearing protection (noise cancelling headphones would be great!) 115dB = 0.25hrs 120dB = 0.13hrs (or 7 1/2 mins !!) (each 5 dB cuts the time in half)

DEFINITLEY NOT A GOOD IDEA !! without anywhere for the sound pressure waves to go but in your ear, you’ll overwork the cilia in the cochlea and kill them (and they don’t grow back!)

Mr. Papers’ Hearing Test by school nurse over three years – notice how bad some frequencies were even at the start – and how they are going down each year on top of that. Why?? Too much VERY LOUD rock music when he was young. No one taught him about taking care of his hearing (or he wasn’t listening – get it…?)

BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR HEARING – YOU ONLY GET ONE PAIR OF WORKING EARS – TAKE CARE OF THEM OR… HERE’S A HEARING AID THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE BATTERIES… DON’T END UP NEEDING A HEARING AID DUE TO POOR CHOICES.

gets louder because of Constructive Interference (they help build on each other) generate an exact “opposite” wave instantly gets quieter because of Destructive Interference (they cancel each other out) end show
