2. PROJECT REQUIREMENTS 1. Typed or Pen/Marker projects ONLY –NO pencil 2. NO lined notebook paper 3. Failure to have proper citation/ internal documentation will result in an automatic ZERO for the major grade assignment.

3. Book Cover Redesign the cover for the book. Be sure to include:\ New cover art (pictures from the Internet includes proper citations) Author’s biography (either paraphrase or using information from website with internal documentation provided) Author’s photo (picture from Internet includes proper citations) Summary of the novel (at least two paragraphs IN YOUR OWN WORDS ONLY) BOOK COVERS ARE TO BE COVERED ON ACTUAL BOOKS!

4. Article Review Write an article review for the novel. Article needs to be formatted for a NEWSPAPER. Be sure to include: Headline of article Photo (proper citation needed) Summary of novel (in YOUR OWN WORDS – at least TWO developed paragraphs) Clearly stated opinion of novel (at least ONE developed paragraph)

5. Letter to the Author Writing a BUSINESS LETTER format to write a letter to the author of the novel. Include the following: opinion of novel Questions to the author (at LEAST FIVE questions) Suggestions for the future novels or a sequel AT LEAST FIVE PARAGAPHS (must include an introduction and a conclusion)

6. Time Capsule Select FIVE items and explain, in well written paragraphs Use textual evidence from novel to explain the items and that connects with novel with internal documentation. Also why these items should be in the time capsule Each item relates to the novel and placed in DECORATED CONTAINER

7. Mapping a Book Creating a map that highlights the major locations in the novel Write a ONE page explanation for the map’s design, locations and textual evidence from the novel. NO PENCIL WRITING ON MAP

8. Timeline Create a timeline at least TEN major events Include a short five sentence paragraph with textual evidence and internal documentation for each event Timeline MUST be bigger than 8 ½ x 11 paper Include ONE image that matches the event Image MUST include proper citation from images that are from the Internet.

9. Soundtrack Select ten (10) school appropriate songs from any genre that would work well with the novel Explain why each song fits the novel with at least 5-7 sentences Each song MUST include examples from the novel (with proper internal documentation) Novel cannot have a movie adaptation already created (or “coming soon”).

10. Make It a Movie! Write a BUSINESS LETTER to a film industry explaining why the movie would make a great film. Explain the following: The key points of the movie Actors for the main roles with explanations Why people would see the movie At least 5 (FIVE) paragraphs Novel cannot have a movie adaptation already created (or “coming soon”).

11. Movie Poster A movie adaptation has been created and a movie poster is needed to help advertise. Include the following: Artwork Specific actors for each main character Rating for the movie At least 5 (FIVE) review statements (with proper citations for Internet usage) ONE page explanation for poster design and selections of specific actors Novel cannot have a movie adaptation already created (or “coming soon”).
