Now, It's time to introduce you guys to Our highness!!! The…. …Noble family! -For your convenience, we have prepared for you the interview that we just did with the family members so you can understand their life and works better. -Let’s start and enjoy!

Family name: Noble gases Family number: 18 Each members’ names: Helium (He), Neon (Ne), Argon (Ar), Krypton (Kr), Xenon (Xe), Radon (Ra) Family’ signature (electron configuration): He (s 2 ), the rest (np 6 ), n=the main energy level State of matter: gas Special family name: Group 0, inert family

Physical Properties: Colorless, odorless, tasteless, nonflammable Relative low boiling and melting points (the boiling/melting points for each gas are close to each other). All gases are at room temperature. Poor conductors of heat and electricity Very low electro-negativities Radon is the only one that radioactive Chemical Properties: Used to be inert, but Kr, Xe, Ra actually can form some compound with Halogen family. Compounds have powerful oxidizing properties  synthesize other compound. Don’t have much reactivity. But can react when ionized Ne<He<Ar<Kr<Xe<Rn

They are free elements, exist as single atom Besides He, Ar, Ne, Xe, Kr are present in the air, can be isolated by liquefaction and fraction distillation. Elements’ Occupations Helium: uses for air craft such as balloons and zeppelins, Divers breathe oxygen- helium to prevent bubble in the blood, use as protective gas in growing silicon and germanium crystals for supersonic wind tunnels. Neon: is well known for its use in neon signs. Glass tubes of any shape can be filled with neon. Argon: uses to fill ordinary incandescent light bulbs, used to provide an inert atmosphere in welding and high-temperature metallurgical processes. Krypton: is combined with argon to be used in fluorescent signs, also used in flash lamps, incandescent light bulbs and high-speed photography. Xenon: can be find in commercial lighting applications. It also employed in flashing stroboscopic lights that outline commercial airport runways, and using in photographic flash equipment. Radon: is used in medical applications for cancer treatment, but many deaths by lung cancer have occurred from radon exposure

The members' charms Helium makes your voice sound like a chipmunk because it is less dense than atmospheric air Helium makes up 0.0005% of all the air we breathe 1/4 of the mass in the Universe is made up of Helium Atoms Xenon translates to “stranger” in Greek Xenon is a rare, colorless, odorless heavy gas Xenon is one of the heaviest gases; one liter of xenon weighs 5.842 grams Krypton- The only present inflammable gas in the atmosphere Krypton comes from the Greek word ‘kryptos’ meaning hidden Argon is the 3rd most abundant gas in the world
