What is a calorie It is a unit of energy content of food In Canada there has to be a food label on all foods other than restaurants, alcohol and baked goods – this shows the caloric intake Are there such things as good and bad calories

How much is too much Calories needed for the average teenage: Male = 2700-3000kcal Female = 2200-2500kcal The average fast food meal has 1200kcal and up to 60% fat ! Diet should be about: 60% carbohyrdates, 15% protein and 25% fat

Alcohol Beer – 12 ounces (341mL – 1 standard bottle) – 150cals Wine – 5 ounces (150mL – 750mL in a bottle) – 100-150cals Spirits – 1.5 ounces – 100-120cals – Add 160cal when mixed with a can of pop (which is 355mL – there is 100cal in 250mL of juice)
