090629(R)Jul2004 Mr. Jeffrey Usavage/ DAIM-EDS, 703 601-1531 Jeffrey.usavage@us.army.mil Slide 4 of 6 o Stryker Program Management Office (PMO) established an interagency environmental management team that focused on: - Testing: studied life-cycle environmental impacts and pollution prevention considerations and incorporated them into the design - Manufacturing: developed the first halon-free crew explosion protection system that eliminates many uses of cadmium and chromium - Operations: a design that catches spent shell casings and that also traps fluids that were released to the environment in other combat vehicles - Disposal: reduced hazardous materials use in the design, manufacturing, and operations processes ACQUISITION/EQUIPMENT “Integrating Environmental Programs into Core Business Practices”
