Clare Hargreaves-Norris Terminology Anterior - Towards the front of the body Posterior - Towards the back of the body Lateral - Towards the outer side Medial - Towards the midline Inferior - Lower than or below Superior - Higher than or above Proximal - Refers to limbs only – nearest to the point of attachment Distal - Refers to limbs only – furthest away from the point of attachment
