Reverse DNS under direct allocation JPNIC currently generates only per /24 reverse entries –APNIC preferred to have per /16, but not required Temporary solution from APNIC for JPNIC –Manual procedure for APNIC HM –Modified and improved automated script to support requests from JPNIC

Reverse DNS under direct allocation (cont’d) APNIC seeks for long-term solution –NIR can initiate creation w. automated procedure, then APNIC generates correct DNS entries. –Transaction-based data exchange mechanism with NIRs Cross checking of consistency –Not sure if needed, but APNIC will look into this.
