Uses the theoretical probability rule to determine the probability of an event. Represent probability as a fraction or decimal Use Prior knowledge of experimental probability when doing 2 dice experiments Know the theoretical probability rule for determining the probability of an event. Know the difference between experimental and theoretical probability. Know and Understand the terminology of chance probability, event, sample space. The dice is numbered 1-6 & is fair.

8 What is Experimental Probability?
Experimental probability- is the ratio of the number of "favourable" outcomes to the total number of trials, not in a sample space but in an actual sequence of experiments.

9 What is Theoretical Probability?
Theoretical probability- the probability that a certain outcome will occur, as determined through reasoning or calculation.

18 Extension Question If the bike race in the learning object was changed from 2 dice to using 3 dice. How would the game change? What adjustments would need to be made to the race? Work out the probability of 7 winning the race? HINT: Work out the sample size. You may like to use a table when adding the dice. Yr 11 Combinations and permutations.
