1 The Sins of Judah The People Forgot God:
Jeremiah 2:32 - “Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me days without end.” Jer. 18:15 - “For my people have forgotten me. They burn incense to other gods and they have stumbled from their ways, from the ancient paths, to walk in bypaths, not on a highway.”

2 The People Forgot God Because They Refused to Listen to God:
The Sins of Judah The People Forgot God Because They Refused to Listen to God: Jeremiah 7:23, 24 - “But I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you. But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backward and not forward.”

The Sins of Judah The People Forgot God Because They Refused to Listen to God: Jeremiah 7:25, 26 - “From the time your forefathers left Egypt until now, day after day, again and again, I sent you my servants the prophets. But they did not listen to me or pay attention. They were stiff-necked and did more evil than their forefathers.” Also Jer. 7:13; 13:11; 22:21; 25:3; 35:15

The Sins of Judah The People Forgot God Because They Refused to Listen to God: Daniel’s Prayer - (9:13) - “Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth.” Brethren Today, Must NOT Tire Of Listening To God! 5 The People Rejected the Law and the Prophets:
The Sins of Judah The People Rejected the Law and the Prophets: Jeremiah 6:19 - “Hear, O earth: I am bringing disaster upon this people, the fruit of their schemes, because they have not listened to my words and have rejected my Law.” The People Accused the Prophets of “Lying” and of Being Full of “Wind” (Jer. 5:12, 13)

The Sins of Judah The People Rejected the Law and the Prophets: Jeremiah 35:15 - “I have also sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, 'Turn now everyone from his evil way, amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them; then you will dwell in the land which I have given you and your fathers.' But you have not inclined your ear, nor obeyed Me.” Jer. 7:13, 25; 11:7; 26:5; 29:19; 32:33)

7 The People Were Stubborn:
The Sins of Judah The People Were Stubborn: Jeremiah 5:23 - “But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts; they have turned aside and gone away.” (cp. Acts 7:51-54) Jer. 6:28 - “They are all hardened rebels, going about to slander. They are bronze and iron; they all act corruptly.” Explains Why Jeremiah Had to be Made a Bronze Wall & Iron Pillar (1:18)

8 The People Were Stubborn:
The Sins of Judah The People Were Stubborn: Jeremiah 5:3 - “O Lord, do not your eyes look for truth? You struck them, but they felt no pain; you crushed them, but they refused correction. They made their faces harder than stone and refused to repent.” Ezek. 3:7-9 - Since Israel Was “Hardened and Obstinate,” Ezekiel Was Made “as Unyielding and Hardened” - Forehead “Harder Than Flint”

9 The People Were Arrogant:
The Sins of Judah The People Were Arrogant: Jeremiah 13:9, 10 - “This is what the Lord says: ‘In the same way I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem. Those wicked people, who refuse to listen to my words, who follow the stubbornness of their hearts and go after other gods to serve and worship them, will be like this belt - completely useless!’”

10 The People Were Arrogant:
The Sins of Judah The People Were Arrogant: Proverbs 16:18 - “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling.” The Fear of the Lord Provides Confidence (Prov. 14:26), Not to be Mistaken For Pride God Hates Pride (Prov. 6:17; 8:13) See Matt. 5:3 + Isa. 66:2; Jas. 4:6; 1 Pet. 5:6

11 The People Were Shameless:
The Sins of Judah The People Were Shameless: Jeremiah 6:15 (and 8:12) - “Are they ashamed of their loathsome conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when I punish them.” Godly Sorrow Is Essential To Repentance (2 Cor. 7:7-11) Matthew 5:3-5

12 The People Were Hypocritical:
The Sins of Judah The People Were Hypocritical: Jeremiah 7: They Oppressed Aliens, Orphans and Widows, Shed Innocent Blood, Worshipped Idols, Stole, Murdered, Committed Adultery and Perjury - Then Came Into The Temple, Saying (Singing) “The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord” (Jer. 7:4)

13 The Sins of Judah The People Were Mean:
Jeremiah 5: “Among my people are wicked men who lie in wait like men who snare birds and like those who set traps to catch men. Like cages full of birds, their houses are full of deceit; they have become rich and powerful and have grown fat and sleek. Their evil deeds have no limit; they do not plead the case of the fatherless to win it, they do not defend the rights of the poor.”

14 The People Worshipped Idols:
The Sins of Judah The People Worshipped Idols: Idolatry Enables People To Invent Their Own Standards of Morals and Ethics Idols Always Approve the Actions and Conduct of Their Worshippers Jer. 2:5 - Following “Worthless Idols” Makes One “Worthless”

15 The People Worshipped Idols:
The Sins of Judah The People Worshipped Idols: The People Were Told, “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it” (6:16) Idols Are Charged With Making the People “Stumble In Their Ways and in the Ancient Paths” (Jer. 18:15, God transferred the whims of the people to idols)

16 The People Worshipped Idols:
The Sins of Judah The People Worshipped Idols: Jeremiah 10:3-5: “For the customs of the people are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with a hammer and nails so it will not totter. Like a scarecrow in a melon patch, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk.”

17 The People Worshipped Idols:
The Sins of Judah The People Worshipped Idols: Isaiah 44: Isaiah Demonstrated the Folly of Idolatry: Craftsman Cuts Down Tree Gets Cold - Uses Some For Heat Gets Hungry - Uses Some to Roast Wood Uses the Remainder to Sculpt and Idol to Worship!

18 The People Worshipped Idols:
The Sins of Judah The People Worshipped Idols: Jer. 7:9; 32:29 - Burned Incense to Baal (Phoenician Sun god) Jer. 2:8 - Prophets Prophesied by Baal (destroyed by Josiah (2 Kgs. 23:4,5, but revived) Jer. 44: Jews Who Fled to Egypt Burned Incense and Poured Drink Offerings to the “Queen of Heaven” (Ishtar, Babylonian goddess of fertility)

19 The People Practiced Child Sacrifice:
The Sins of Judah The People Practiced Child Sacrifice: Jeremiah 7:31; 19:5; 32:35 - Sacrificed Their Sons and Daughters to Molech Forbidden (Lev. 18:21; Deut. 18:10), Yet Practiced by Ahaz (2 Kgs. 16:2, 3) & Manasseh (2 Kgs 21:1, 6)
