2 Description The NationalPark of Doñana is a mosaic of ecosystems that has a unique biodiversity in Europe. In this park you will find beaches, dunes, marshes... which give this park a unique character. The marsh stands out as a place of extraordinary importance because in winter thousands of European and African birds make a stop here.

3 Situation Huelva is situated on the furthest south-western end of Spain, in Andalusia. It borders on the province of Badajoz to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the south, Seville to the east and Portugal to the west. From Sierra Morena, fluvial minor currents come down into the Guadiana or the The Guadalquivir, two big rivers that flow through the province of Huelva.

4 This area is ideal for... Almost everyone, ranging from children to older people.

5 Protected area This natural area is approximately 50.720 hectares, distributed between Huelva and Seville. Here you can find marshes and beaches, where you will see some species of aquatic birds in danger of extinction.

6 Accommodation There are many kinds of accommodation: rural houses, hostels, hotels, apartments, etc... In this picture you can see the hostel in Doñana.

7 Push and pull factors. It offers a great variaty of activities such as horse riding, sports, beaches, museums, etc.. You are not allowed to visit some areas because they are protected.

8 Economic / social and cultural aspects The fishing industry is very important in the economy of Huelva. Tourism and the tertiary sector have had great importance in the economy during the last few years.

9 Fauna The Iberian Lynx is the most endangered feline in the world. Apart from this protected species, you can find other examples of wildlife in the natural park.

10 Flora In the natural park you can find find plants that are also in danger of extinction, such as: vulpia fontquerana, Linaria tursica, etc..
