3  Endure, definition: to put up with something difficult or painful, part of speech: verb.  Fugitive, definition: someone who is running away, part of speech: verb.  Tuberculosis, definition: a highly contagious disease caused by bacteria that usually affects the lungs, part of speech: noun.  Maneuver, definition: a difficult movement that requires planning and skill, part of speech: verb.  Narcolepsy, definition: a disorder which results in sudden and uncontrollable attacks of sleep, part of speech: noun.

4 Harriet Tubman, was born on a plantation in Maryland. She was named Araminta Ross by her parents Harriet and Ben Ross. Araminta was born a slave because her parents were slaves. She will later be known as Harriet Tubman, who changed the world.

5 Harriet suddenly falls in love. She marries a free black man, John Tubman. That is why her last name changed to Tubman. Their relationship may not work out. He is free, she is not, so they may be taken away from each other, or worst.

6 Harriet, runs away to Philadelphia. Her husband, John Tubman did not want her to do this. She did not listen to him. Then in December, 1850 she went back to get her niece, Kessiah. On her adventure back she finds out John has found another woman.

7 Harriet Tubman, has a Christmas miracle. She gets her brothers to successfully flee to Canada. Later, June, 1857 Harriet makes the trip from her hometown to Canada. She brought her elderly parents along with her.

8 The prominent abolitionist and senator from New York, William H. Seward makes a great deal with Harriet. He tried to sell her a home near Auburn, New York. Harriet likes the deal and needs shelter. She approves to the deal and has a home.

9 Harriet, travels to South Carolina to work on the side union army in the civil war. She helped all the injured people. Harriet, did her best to not let the people die. She protected them very well. By then she could be considered a doctor.

10 Harriet, helps lead three hundred troops in the successful Combahee River raid in South Carolina during the civil war. Many people are thankful for Harriet. The trips may take a while but Harriet wants people to be happy. 1896, Harriet buys the property near home to create a home for elderly. Where they will be taken care of.

11 Harriet begins to suffer of sickness. Unfortunately Harriet dies of a bad disease called Pneumonia. Every one was sad about the loss. Harriet was thankful she helped so many other people live.

12 Harriet was proud she freed slaves. As you can see the picture with the saying is something Harriet was proud to say she did.

13 (this picture is a bit cut off but the bottom says $40,000.) this picture was something people made they wanted Harriet to be caught and stop freeing slaves there was a reward of $40,000 for who ever caught her.
