Journal: Complete your sensory language word map from yesterday, (p. 28-33 RJ Book) OR Free Write Friday in your journal. *All journals should be at least one paragraph or longer! *

4. 8/21/14 Essential Question: How do authors use sensory language to create mood and describe settings? Standard: ELA.6.W3.d – Use precise words and phrases, relevant descriptive details, and sensory language to convey experiences and events.

5. 8/22/14 Language Arts Work Session -Literature Circles 1. Locate your Literature Circle Group. 2. Read for 15-20 minutes. 3. In pairs, create a setting poster. Each person in your group is looking for sensory details of the setting. You must include a picture that matches your written description of the setting. When applicable, cite any textual evidence (list the page number) of the sensory details.

6. 8/22/14 Language Arts Closing Session Share and Compare What prediction can you make about your novel? Where does the setting take place? Write your response in your agenda as your T.O.D. Don’t forget! HOMEWORK: Add to your reading logs!
