Hazardous Materials Many schools have been stockpiling hazardous materials like mercury and cyanide containing compounds that were used in the past for teaching and other purposes. These are dangerous because of:1. age and condition 2. toxic or reactive properties.

Hazardous Materials Spills and releases can be expensive to clean up, in some cases costing tens of thousands of dollars, Liability issues will cost more.
