2. Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity -deals with accelerated frames of reference and provides a new theory of gravity. -(Special relativity only deals with non- accelerating frames of reference of inertial frames)

3. Main Postulates 1) The Equivalency Principle: –All physical experiments conducted in a gravitational field and in an accelerated frame of reference give identical results. “Weight” is an illusion created by inertia. 2) Large masses warp space-time: –Space-time is a 4-dimensional construct. Large masses warp the fabric of space-time. Light travels through the fabric of space-time, lengthening the distance it travels through warped portions. This has the effect of slowing down time, as we travel through time at the speed of light. 3) Time passes more slowly in a gravitational field as it will travel in a curved path (distorted). –Not just objects are affected by gravity – so is time.
