Evaluation Process 2015-16 DP Evaluation IB Visit Action Planning Self- Study
4
Who is involved? Steering Committee (pedagogical leadership team) Board Parents TeachersStudents Staff
5
Self Study The school (and all stakeholders) will determine its own assessment of the implementation of the programme, according to the Programme standards and practices and programme requirements Action Planning The school incorporates the findings of the Self Study within its action plan for the next 5 years. Essentially we will identify major achievements during the period under review and identify practices that need further development. IB Visit A team of 2/3 IB experienced teachers/administrators will visit the school. After analysis of the self- study questionnaire, the supporting documents and the findings of the school visit, the IB will send a final report which will reflect on the self study submitted by the school, including the process and the conclusions that the school reached. The team may submit commendations and recommendations which should be incorporated within the action plan for the next 5 years. DP Evaluation

The Self Study Questionnaire in seven parts. Designed to allow the school to reflect on progress made. Designed so that the school can project future areas for growth. Input from all stakeholders is necessary in order that a broad spectrum of opinions is represented.
7
Self Study Descriptors School-generated Represent the pedagogical management team’s professional opinion on levels of implementation of the DP Encourages a genuine, school-specific reflection
8
Needs attention: There is a significant amount of work left to be done in implementation of the standard. Approaching implementation: The school is taking action towards attaining the requirements of the standard, but that the standard requirement/s has/have not yet been met. Satisfactory implementation: The school has is meeting the requirements of the standard. Fully implemented: The school is consistent in maintaining the already implemented standard, and/or is a good example of best practice related to the standard. The Codrington School-developed Descriptors for the Self Study

Programme standards and practices Set of criteria against which both the school and the IB can evaluate success in programme implementation. Standards are general requirements for programme implementation. Practices are further definitions of the standards. Divided into sections, some of which are general to the school, others specific to the DP. The self study questionnaire correlates directly to the criteria set out in this document.
10
Existing school documentation Should relate directly to Programme Standards and Practices Will be provided by the school Draws on your own experience as a stakeholder Informs analysis of questionnaire data before creating action plan Will be presented to the evaluation team, if required Evidence
11
Action Planning Format Evidence of achievement or progress towards objective Budgetary implications Person/group responsible for achieving objective Date to be achieved Actions Objective (from analysis of self study data)
12
What goes into determining the objectives/actions needed? Gather evidence Collate & analyse data Reflect on which areas seem most in need Prioritise Determine actions needed

Stakeholder Guidelines Read the Programme Standards & Practices Document Note issues for further clarification or explanation at first “standards” meeting Complete online questionnaire
