1 HAPPY TUESDAY A1 computer
Bellwork: 1. Get Page 105 from the tray. DON’T START ON IT YET! 2. Have out your Notecard Sticker Sheet. Lay out your notecards (definition side up) on your desk 5x4 + 2, “Taxonomy” needs to be top left card. 3. Write “Binomial Nomenclature Practice” – ½ sheet of paper you just picked up, staple to back of your bellwork. Read the instructions on the handout and answer questions 1 and 2.

2 Collect Today Page 105 – Kingdom Sort Page 94 – Notecard ALL PARTS (Bring TOMORROW too for Picture Check) Kingdoms Chart Quiz Assigned Taxonomy & Kingdoms Exam (TOMORROW) Most Missed MakeUp Quiz – Evolution (TOMORROW) Classification Video MakeUp Quiz (TOMORROW) Taxonomy/Cladogram Video MakeUp Quiz (Monday) Late Page 104 – Color Coded Kingdoms Chart (Late-30%)

3 Extra Credit -Valentine Posters -Notecards DUE BY FRIDAY!!!

4 Essential Question How does classification allow us to identify and categorize organisms? Standard 8C – Compare characteristics of taxonomic groups, including archaea, bacteria, protists, fungi, plants, and animals. PG 105

5 CHART QUIZ (10 MINS)

6 Six Kingdom Sort Cont’d (15 Minutes)
Eubacteria: Red Archeabacteria: Orange Protist: Yellow Plantae: Green Fungi: Blue Animalia: Purple 1st: Highlight/underline/circle the key words that help you determine the kingdom. 2nd: Determine what Kingdom an organism belongs to – write in pencil. 3rd: Every 6 organisms…..must be checked by me before you can move on. Get a signature from ME…..your teacher.  4th: Must have 4 signatures before this step!!! Color-code each organism based on what kingdom they belong to:

7 WALKING REVIEW -You need notebook paper and pencil -Find a partner (of your choosing – no more than 2 people) -Number your paper #’s You will travel around the room answering as many questions as possible (yes this is for a grade) -No more than 1 group per station! -You are ONLY talking to your partner!
