2 What it is  Feasibility/planning – LC&T centrally- supported e-portfolio system specifications – core functions evaluate solutions costs, timelines build partnerships  Funding, project status, implementation -- likely

3 What’s been done so far  outreach: ANGEL e-portfolio group  specification draft  preliminary planning  ANGEL, LON-CAPA, OSP e-port testing sandboxes  preliminary funding requests

4 Example e-portfolio functions  personal repository – artifacts  web publishing – open or access-controlled design tools  user-defined access control ability to grant access to non-affiliates  co-curricular – not linked to individual courses  assessment – rubric support, matrix, reflective  system-wide searching/indexing  integration -- with CMS, with enterprise data and systems

5 Example e-portfolio policy issues  storage – how much space, quotas, etc.  e-portfolio lifecycle  FERPA  intellectual property – who owns e-portfolio elements?  assessment -- validity  institutional and departmental requirements – voluntary vs. compulsory  how “official” are e-portfolios and related data?

6 Timeline – current projection  limited beta test – Summer, 2006  expanded beta – Fall, 2006  enhancements and scale-up – 2006-07 academic year  full production – Fall, 2007
