2 The repetitive use of the small squares on the front page echoed to a lesser extent on the inside demonstrates rhythm, as does the division of each page into two vertical sections. The small squares and vertical divisions, which indicate formality, contrast with the circular (les formal) elements such as the spiral logo and the circular text on the front page. On both pages, balance is symmetrical about the vertical divisions with one half of each page being taken up with images. The symmetrical balance works well as the transparency of the paper emphasises it. The predominant shape is a square. Ie the left hand side of the front page is divided into squares, echoed slightly in the inside. The larger rectangular sections compliment the square, with circular elements adding contrast. The leaflet is largely made up of warm browns and gold sections and text which is reflected in the internal pictures of the restaurant which feature wood fittings and fixtures and the large logo. This contrasts well with the blue of the complete logo and the blue, yellow and green dots on the front page and the blue text inside The nature of the paper used has an inherent texture that is unusual for a brochure. 3 High speed volume production Fast drying inks Inks work well on non-porous materials Plate can be patched and easily altered Alteration to the design can be made quickly and easily Half tones and small text do not reproduce well so lack of fine detail available. Create body and fillet edges (Sketch and extrude) Draw circle on angels surface and extrude (cut) to create hole Draw larger circle and extrude to depth (cut) to create counter bore. Draw circle on square end and extrude (join) to create cylinder Draw circle on end of cylinder and extrude (cut) to create hole in cylinder. Chamfer end of cylinder Inventor

4 Newsprint is the cheapest paper used in newspaper industry. It is absorbent, slightly rough, tears easily and fades quickly. Calendaring is smooth and used for magazines. Calendaring polishes the clay that has been applied to the paper to give it a shinny surface. Opacity is the degree to which ink printed on one side shows through to the other side. If they show through the reader would not be able to read the other side properly. Grammes per square metre/gsm
