Working with London Probation since 2001 Advice and casework for foreign national offenders in prison and in the community Design and pilot of Tracks toolkit for resettlement of foreign national prisoners – now rolling out nationally.

25 mentors recruited 65 mentees referred - 24 control group - 41 treatment group 25 mentoring relationships supported Achieved Mentoring and Befriending Trust quality standard

No direct contact with client group – reliant on referrals Probation services in UK undergoing major structural change Attrition rate among mentees Mentors becoming discouraged

Mr A – overstayer from Ghana, wife and two children, heavily in debt, ongoing immigration case Helped client liaise with solicitor, referral to foodbank, charitable grants. Mr A gained Leave to Remain Helped write a CV, apply for jobs Mr A got a job
