What was your most valuable experience as a student in architecture school or other higher education? How would you like to see such an experience still be offered? Assisting/volunteering with educators and fellow students on various projects, such as measuring and preparing record drawings of historic sites, surveying and drawing urban and regional development concepts, etc. Take on projects such as Greener Greenbelt, Freedom by Design, volunteer with organizations like NDC, etc. December 5, 2015PVAF 2020

In terms of promoting architectural research, what are three areas that you feel need to be examined in greater depth in the local area on a county level? On a state wide level? On a global level? Local/county: Share knowledge/experience/ideas through public outreach, build alliances with educational, professional and government organizations to serve and educate the public Statewide: Same as above National/Global: Same plus identify and assist in volunteer opportunities such as AFH, One Percent, etc. December 5, 2015PVAF 2020

What recent trends in architecture, fine arts or performing arts have you become more aware of in the past five years? How did you become informed about these shifts/trends. Social media? What’s your one “big idea” for PVAF in 2016-2020? Identify and solicit sponsorship from product and service providers of members, such as insurance carriers, banks, engineering/testing/inspection consultants, software/equipment/furniture vendors, print shops, etc., in addition to usual sponsors such as lumber yards.
