Innovation Network Leveraging the assets of University of Kentucky and the Kentucky SBIR/STTR matching program, since June 2011 21 SBIR/STTR funded companies have reallocated to Lexington as a result of a very intensive company recruitment program implement by this Office, along with its other BBDP partners. Since the KY SBIR/STTR match program was launched in 2007, 42 companies have relocated to Kentucky with 28 of these companies (67%) relocating to Lexington from 19 different states. Creating 280 new jobs and raising $50.6 million in capital funds Employing a total of 952 people, paying an average salary of $76,929 for reported full-time jobs. The Lexington Office works with over 200 active clients.

6. Innovation Network Lexington’s angel investor community has continued to expand, with the Bluegrass Angels growing to over 60 accredited investors through December. The region’s third angel fund, Bluegrass Venture Fund III investment commitments of over $3.25 million as of December 2015. The total attendance for Lexington GEW was over 735 participants which is a 33% increase over last year’s GEW. Lexington’s GEW has grown significantly from its first year in 2011 with 278 participants.
