FY10 Ops Preparations: Extended vessel bake (to 3 weeks) Additional Physics Operators Spare LITER probes/fill systems fabricated & new staff Run day status/plans now sent out via “Web Tools” Control Room layout & additional work stations Display wall projectors refurbished and restored New features added to the NSTX web page - Research plan look-ahead/Run logs/XPs - Meeting announcements and posting of presentations - Weekly reports & publications -Design review/Technical test results -Photo libraries -Upgrade Info -Meeting room schedules

FY10 Operations: ISTP on Mar 17th, followed by Mag. Calib./Mach. Cond. 1st accrued run time on Mar 31st Ops halted on Apr 16th due to OH lead water leak -Epoxy repair successful -Sight tube added for periodic inspections -Plasma operations resume on May 27th Ops halted again on Jul 1st due to chafed OH lead insulation -Insulation repaired and lead supports modified - Daily OH HiPots prescribed - Ops resumed on Jul 27th after argon vent to fix a shutter Completed the FY10 run on Sept 24th - 2nd argon vent for bay K TIV/shutter -Elected to run in Oct to accrue FY 11 run time Due to >2 mo downtime, very little scheduled maint. time

Operations Results: Between Mar 31st and Sept 24th, NSTX completed 15.4 run weeks, with 3145 plasma attempts resulting in 2941plasmas (93.5%). A new record of an average of 191 shots/week. Between Oct 4th and Oct 29th, NSTX completed 4.2 run weeks, with 885 plasma attempts resulting in 839 plasmas (94.8%). Almost 200 shots/week, but with significant shutter/TIV/window problems.

Run Assessment Communication/Program Coordination. - Scheduling, allocation of time, and performance of experimental proposals -Coordination of start-up activities, balance of run versus maintenance time, layout of the run day. -Publishing of results in a timely fashion. Collaborations and Collaborator Support. -Support of collaborative efforts -How can we do better? Run Staffing and Equipment/Spare Part needs. -Do we have the right balance of staffing and are we applying our resources correctly?
