Monday, September 16 th Entry Task 1. Give your lab packet to your partner. 2. Using a Pencil-Correct (thus far) the lab report that was given to you. Use the “How to write an 8 th grade lab report” worksheet to grade them accurately. 3. Focus on circling or highlighting corrections, not giving a grade. Schedule: Oreo Lab Conclusion Homework: Lab Report Packet Due TOMORROW!!!! Objective: I can understand how to write a conclusion for a formal lab report Please have on your desk: Lab report packet

Conclusion Use these guidelines to write your conclusion in paragraph form. DO NOT USE THE WORDS “YOU”, “WE”, “I”, “IT”, “MY”, ETC! What was the purpose of the experiment? How does the data answer the question from the problem statement? Give examples from the data to support what the answer is – USE NUMBERS! State whether the hypothesis was supported by the data. Give a different example from the data to explain whether the hypothesis was supported or not – USE NUMBERS! What were possible sources of error in this experiment? Give 2 to 3 specific examples of possible error from the experiment. Summarize what was learned and what the results support.

Tuesday, September 17 th Entry Task Here is what is happening today: 1.You will take the Geology PreTest 2.You will get a book during the pretest 3.You will write your name in the book using permanent marker 4.When done with the pretest you will turn in the answer sheet and packet 5.You will grab a scavenger hunt paper 6.You will use your book to complete the scavenger hunt paper 7.You will take your book home! 1.1 Reading and Questions Read 1.1 together with your partner As you guys read, add notes to your foldables When done, in your notebook, answer the following questions using full sentences, IQIA (include the question in the answer). –Questions #1-6 on page 14. If you want a 6!!!!! –Draw a colored picture to represent each of the spheres When done with all of the above study for 1.1 quiz which will be on Monday
