Application Letter General Rules of Writing Application Application Letter is a means used by an applicant to keep in touch with a prospective employer. Application is the representative of an applicant. There three important elements to be considered : quality of paper, tone and content. Application is not applying job, but asking an interview. Try to imagine that you are a receiver rather than a sender.

Types of Application Application as a reply to advertisement (solicited). Application recommended by someone (on introduction). Application based on initiative of the applicant (unsolicited).
