13 Student Affairs Statement of The Graduate Student Association in Support of Anti-Racism Protests on College Campuses The Graduate Student Association of UCSB stands in solidarity with student activists protesting racism at universities around the country. Students at the University of Missouri, Yale, Amherst College, Ithaca College, Smith College, Claremont McKenna College, and San Jose State University have spoken out against a pervasive climate of racism that has gone too long unattended. Here at UCSB and IV, a spate of worrisome racial incidences have left students feeling concerned about issues of racism and discrimination in our own community. We would like to encourage students to build solidarity through participation in student governance and community dialog. Please join us at the GSA bagel hour and weekly Happy Hour and help us support one another and our university’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity. We at the GSA will continue to work to uphold UCSB’s accessibility and equal opportunity for all.
