The Cold Ice Caps By: Drew S. Block 7

Where In The World Is This Biome? It can be located at the very top of the world, and at the very bottom. I am going to focus on Antarctica.

Landforms There can be anything from a big mountain of ice to a ice berg the size of Jamaica. Some land forms can form a Arch, some can form a small pile of ice and a huge Plato of ice on top! Here are some Photos of land formations.

Animals Some animals that live in the artic are, Seals, Whales, Sea Spiders, Artic Cod, Snails, Kelp, Lobster, and Artic Foxes. Here are some photos of some animals in the artic.

Plants The most common plant in Antarctica is artic grass. But there are many more like an Artic willow.

Climate The average temperature in the Summer is -18°f and in the winter -26°f. As you can see it can get very cold. It only rains or snows about 2 inches a year.

Roles Of H20 When ever it rain it freezes and slow adds on the the ice.

Tour De Biome Why is it so cold in Antarctica? Because it is located at the bottom of the planet, and the Suns rays do not touch down there as much. Is there a capital of Antarctica? No. No country has clamed Antarctica.
