From your Editor Main Menu, click on All Submissions with Editor's Decision.

Click on Rescind Decision.

Click on the appropriate button. Send Custom Letter: allows you to customize the standard notification letter prior to sending it to the author. Send Default Letter: sends the standard notification letter to the author. Rescind Without Sending Letter: completes the Rescind action without sending a notification to the author. Next, return to your Editor Main Menu.

In your Editor 'To-Do' List, click on Submissions with Rescinded Decision*. * Note: the submission will also appear in the folder is was in prior to the decision being made; in this case, it's the Submissions with Required Reviews Complete folder. Next, click Submit Editor's Decision and Comments to enter your new decision. Proceed as you would with when making any other decision.
