The general idea in the Media and the Youth was to study the influence of mass media on the young, investigating the differences and similarities in how people in general and the young in particular relate to the media in different countries. In addition to conducting a general survey, we wanted to focus on the European aspect, namely what kind of information is provided in our national media about the partner countries. The question of stereotypes was addressed: What do we know about ourselves, what do we think of each other? In a final debate the students discussed whether modern media was contributing in any way towards creating a ”European” culture.
