Providing student housing in Camden Not defined as either affordable housing or needs housing Exempt from affordable housing provision Windfall sites rather than designated housing sites Cannot be used as a replacement for affordable provision

Recent schemes and issues Light industrial site – Scheme amended to re-provide some B8 uses Office site – Applicant demonstrated the limited viability for continued office use Usage – Camden requested details of use in summer months to prevent usage as a hotel Occupation – Camden restricts occupation to students in full or part- time education in London institutions, and not sold as separate units.
