Today we will learn about… the 12 days of Christmas,

A long time ago, some people decided they wanted more than one day to celebrate Christmas.

They decided 12 days of Christmas would be more fun!

They made Christmas every day from December 25 to January 6!

Every day, there was a certain present that they had to give their love.

The presents were very silly! Would you like a chicken for a present?!

No one could remember what gifts they were supposed to buy.

So, in the year 1700, they wrote a song to remind them.

They called it “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

They had to stop celebrating, though. They ran out of money.

So now, Christmas is back to only one day… but we still sing the song, because it is fun!

THE END!
