6. Individuality- This only exists in the book Anthem when the main character Equality transgresses against the world council by keeping secret his tunnel and escaping into the forest. The lose of individuality is reflected by the loss of the word “I.” This story shows the journey of the first individual to surface from a monotony society.

7.  The uncharted forest- This symbolizes the unknown. It is feared by all brothers and Equality decides to run into it to find out it really isn’t that bad of place. I think it could represent what us Americans think of third-world countries. We can’t really judge a place harshly if we haven’t been there and if we don’t know much about the country.  Light bulb- When Equality brings forth his light bulb to the council he is really in an actual role, a light-bearer to society. He wants to help his brothers and their quality of life but is denied by the council.
