2. 2 | M2M Update | August 2012 3GPP2 LS to TIA TR-50 3GPP2 M2M Update M2M Activity in 3GPP2  Joint activity amongst technical groups:  TSG-A Access Network Interfaces  TSG-C Radio Access  TSG-S Services and Systems Aspects  TSG-X Core Networks  SC 3GPP2 Workshop  Joint M2M activity: [TSG-A,C, S and X]  Joint discussion had occurred on Wednesday AM  The goal was to develop an End-to-End document which would include the Air Interface, IOS and Network components  This document will not be published, instead groups will progress M2M work in their respective groups and will meet jointly if necessary

3. 3 | M2M Update | August 2012 3GPP2 LS to TIA TR-50 3GPP2 M2M Update  TSG-A will produce one document “M2M Interoperability Specification (IOS)  TSG-C will produce a multi-part document based on 1x  Qualcomm introduced enhancements to 1x to support M2M in February 2012  Other member companies introduce contributions during the development process in support of 1x M2M  The documents were approved for Baseline and are now in R&F  Expected to be release for V&V (Verification and Validation) out of the August meeting  Documents include the Core 1x Air Interface and the Data Service Option  TSG-S will produce an M2M System Requirements document  Discussion on M2M System Requirements continue relate to addressing, along with general and architecture requirements  TSG-X will produce a multi-part document which would include:  Overview and Architecture  Circuit Services  Packet Services

4. 4 | M2M Update | August 2012 3GPP2 LS to TIA TR-50 3GPP2 M2M Update  TSG-S M2M System Requirements  Discussion on M2M System Requirements continue  The group continues to address contribution on requirements and/or enhancements related to characteristics and use cases, for example, on:  General requirements,  Architecture requirements,  Addressing  The cdma Technology Workshop was held in Guangzhou, China on June 14, 2012. Approximately 150 people were in attendance. The conference was well received.  A panel discussion was held in the afternoon and generated a lot of discussion and insight on M2M. Some panelist included:  M2M – China Telecom, ZTE, Agilent, Huawei  User Needs – China Telecom, Smartfren
