5 2nd level competencies 2nd level competencies are a guidance. There are optional parts in it and regional or local variation are accepted.

6 What will be the future role of a meteorologist? Met. science expert - client expert? Production oriented forecaster will disapperar in 5-10 years because of automation. Client has in the future more versitile products than TAF’s that need interpretation, need of consultative meteorologist. More communication skills have to be developed in order to deliver the proper information to stakeholders

7 Assessment of competency – a new approach Competency based approach is based on showing -not only knowing. Task Team Competency Assessment Toolkit has developed a collection of methods for assessment and examples how to use them to assess competency.
