Citing your Sources A bibliography or Works cited page is a list of all the sources used in your project, arranged alphabetically by author's last name (or title) Citing sources properly can be confusing, but it is very important Remember, even IMAGES, Videos and other media on the INTERNET is copyrighted, and must be cited

MLA Citations MLA: Modern Language Association is a common format for citing sources, which is used for English, History, the Arts, and Languages. Basic MLA Format (Book): Authors Last Name, First Name. Title of Book. City of Publishing: Publisher, Copyright year. Example: Fogle, Bruce. Training your Dog. New York: DK Publishing, 2001. Basic MLA Format (Online): Author’s Last Name, First. "Title of Web Page." Title of Website. Copyright/Publication Date. Publisher. Date of Access. Example: Smith, Terry. “Napoleonic Wars.” Military History. Aug, 2010. Napoleon Institute. 1 Sept. 2010.

Print Citations A print citation should include AS MUCH of the following information as possible: Author: Author of the Work Title: Title of the Book or Article Title of the Publication if it is an article in a Journal, Magazine, Newspaper, Encyclopedia or other Reference Book Place of Publication: The city where the work was published Publisher: The name of the publishing company Date of Publication: Year the Work was published

Online Citations An online citation should include AS MUCH of the following information as possible : Author (or Editor/Publisher): Author of the Article, Web Page or Website If there is NO Author, list the Editor listed and/or a credible Publisher (ex. A well-known organization or educational institution) Titles Title of the Web Page Title of the Website Date of Publication: Publication or Copyright Date If there is NO publication date, use the copyright year for the website Date of Access: The date that you accessed the Work URL: The Website address of the webpage you are referencing

Image Citation When citing images, you MUST include AT LEAST: Title/Description of Image Title of Web Site Online Image Date of Access A Complete Image Citation would include: Creator’s Last Name, First Image Description. Title of Web Site Copyright Date Online Image Date of Access

Bibliography Wizard The Bibliography Wizard is a tool that lets you easily create citation entries for your Bibliography. You must FIRST gather all the necessary citation information from your source, then enter it into the Bibliography Wizard. Open a Browser Browse to: School Web Site > Library Choose Citation Wizard Choose your Source Type Enter the required Information Click View Citation Copy/Paste into Word Edit if necessary Ex. Take out any MISSING entries – like author’s last name, nd or np.
