About WSDC WSDC is the world’s biggest high school debate tournament with teams representing over 60 different countries from 5 different continents Teams are on the Proposition and Opposition part of the debate. Two teams of 3. G1 G2 G3 J O1 O2 O3 Each team makes FOUR speeches.

Some major differences The two sides on Worlds are ‘Team Proposition’ and ‘Team Opposition’ The topic of every debate is called the motion. Based on Parliamentary style debate. “This house…” means that our side believe that OR the Government believes that… # people on a team = 3 Duration of the speeches: 4, 5, 7, or 8 minutes Questions format: Points of Information You are allocated a side of the debate (Government / Proposition OR Opposition) The Opposition sits to the right of the Judge You cannot chose the motion

The Motion You cannot chose the motion All motions are social, moral &/or political issues. You will have your motions one week in advance.
