Life in the End

Last Week… We looked at Jesus’ disciples in the early church. We saw that they lived a life of prayer, sharing their things, selling things to fund the mission, eating together, preaching, giving to the work, sacrificing, learning from the apostles, studying the Word, celebrating communion, living a life of service together.

Last Week… We also looked at two ways of living and being the church… controlled by our own fleshly desires or led by the Holy Spirit. We looked at two lists that the Apostle Paul taught some of the disciples. It showed the type of life that each of these two ways of living would produce.

Last Week… What really stuck with you from our last time together?

Desires of the flesh Sexual immorality Impurity Lustful pleasures Idolatry Sorcery Hostility & quarreling Jealousy Outbursts of anger Selfish ambition Dissension, division Envy Drunkenness & wild parties Fruit of the Spirit Love Joy Peace Patience Kindness Goodness Faithfulness Gentleness Self-control

Last Week… What stuck with you from our dialogue last time we were together?

Life in the End

“Let me first go and…” “Let me first go and…”

Mr. Too Quick the love of earthly comforts. Mr. Too Slow the precedence of a role, job or occupation. Mr. Too Easy the priority of family and friendships.

Luke 14:33 Jesus said, “Any of you who does not give up everything they have cannot be my disciple.”

2 Corinthians 5:18-20 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

“But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—they will end up in the fiery lake. This is the second death.”

How do you intend to make disciple-making a priority in your life?

How would it affect us as a community?

How would it affect others… our neighborhood, our city?

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

WALKING IT OUT… Engage the Story more deeply with each other this week.
