Reality-shaping prayer Prayer is the spiritual groundwork that levels mountains, fills in valleys, and prepares in the desert places a highway for the Lord. Before trying to change people’s understanding and openness to the work of the Spirit through teaching and practice, we first need to prepare the way through prayer.

Acknowledged profession of commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord “Whoever then, acknowledges me before people, I will acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever denies me before people, I will deny him also before my Father in heaven.” Matthew 10:32-33, NET “…if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10

Lay hands on people and pray for them to receive the Spirit “When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptised into the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.” Acts 8:15-17 Do we ?
