2. What is the Charity? For over 40 years, Samaritan’s Purse has done its utmost to follow Christ’s command by going to aid the world’s poor sick and suffering. Samaritan’s Purse is a International Christian relief organization that stands ready to respond when humanitarian crisis or disaster strikes since 1970. Samaritan’s Purse specializes in meeting the immediate, critical needs of victims of conflict, disaster, famine, and epidemics throughout the world. Providing emergency food, water, shelter, medicine, and other life saving assistance. They build churches, train church leaders and workers, provide Christian literature and funds practical resources to support the activities of local churches and ministry partners as they reach out.

4. Operation Christmas Child Operation Christmas Child is a project created by the organization; Samaritan’s Purse. Every year, people of all ages, families, churches, schools, and businesses pack shoeboxes with gifts for children in need. Globally, more than 100 million shoeboxes have been given to kids in need in more than 130 countries since 1993. Each shoebox gift is hand delivered to a child in need,it is treasured by the child that receives it, and it is a lasting reminder that he or she is precious to GOD. The shoeboxes help our local partners build relationships and establish connections in new communities.

5. Create a Shoebox! The best way to volunteer is to participate in the Operation Christmas Child project. Create a shoebox along with a $9 donation and put a smile on a child’s face. I have experience in Operation Christmas Child. Around the holidays for my cheerleading squad’s voluntary work we each made a shoebox for a child we were assigned to. My child was a girl, so I filled her shoebox with coloring books, markers, paint, bubbles, stickers, and etc. It was a really good experience for me, I enjoyed it and I would most definitely do it again.
